I was surprised upon entering the Hyundai Motor Studio to see that everything was pink with cute characters on it. I'm still not sure why this was the style, but the whole experience felt surreal. On the first floor, you could see the electric and hybrid vehicles displayed in a setting that looked straight out of Barbie. We were all very impressed by one of the Hyundai vans, which had reclining massage chairs in the back, a foldable TV, and cameras all around the car. Unfortunately, they do not sell this model in the U.S.! On the second floor, there was a racecar driving simulator. The user wore a VR headset and was sitting in a moving, vibrating chair. Some of the other students and I chose to take the paid tour, which ended up being super cool. We saw how the vehicles are put together by robots in the factory, and even the components that make up the car. The visual displays and interactive tour were very fun and engaging. There was a video demonstration of a car crash, which used both a projector and a car to engage the audience and demonstrate the safety of Hyundai vehicles. It was yet another great example of exciting human-computer interaction. I recommend that anyone visiting the Hyundai Motor Studio take the tour!
